Endurance Organization Running Strong for 10 Years - Over $900K Donated to PA Wounded Warriors
Posted October 11, 2023

State College, PA On September 30, 2023, the Endurance Organization, founded by Best Line Equipment and McCrossin, marked a decade of goodwill with its 10th Annual Clay Shoot, an event deeply rooted in its mission to support our veterans through the PA Wounded Warriors organization. This year, their fundraising efforts raised over $112,000 in contributions. This achievement is part of a larger legacy, with a remarkable sum totaling $909,691 over the past ten years. What sets the PA Wounded Warriors apart is its unwavering commitment to ensuring that nearly every dollar, a staggering 96 cents, directly benefits veterans in need across Pennsylvania. This dedication showcases their genuine passion for the cause.

"2023 was a special year for Endurance Organization as it was our 10th anniversary," said Adam Houseknecht, President, and CEO of Best Line Equipment. “Even better, we have employees and vendors that have been a part of every year for the past ten years. Endurance has grown to be one of the largest single donors to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors organization, and similarly, both 501(c)(3) organizations comprise an all-volunteer board. Neither organization could do without their volunteers. I want to thank all sponsors who made it possible to raise the $112,000 this year, especially Best Line's sponsors that we work with daily in a business capacity to serve our customers. Without them, we couldn't succeed in business or philanthropic efforts."

“In 2013, Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Inc. was approached by some highly motivated and passionate patriots from the heart of the State with an offer of help,” said Frank Sajer, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, and Board Member. ”While we knew the reputations of both Best Line Equipment and McCrossin, we had no idea of the positive impact these organizations would make by providing their leadership and unwavering support of our mission. Looking back, with ten years of personal dedication from their team, their employees, and the help of their sponsors, Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. has provided immediate assistance to over 16,000 of our honorable veterans. Our motto is “No Warrior without Help,” and the Endurance Organization has allowed us not to falter in our pursuit of that critical task.”

"At McCrossin, the core belief in giving back to the community runs deep," said Joe Leahey, Vice President of McCrossin. "The 2023 Endurance event exemplified the spirit of benevolence, with employees from all corners of the organization rallying together to make a substantial difference in the lives of Pennsylvania's wounded veterans. Their involvement ranged from volunteering their time and expertise to crafting handmade prizes that added a special touch to the event."

This year's clay shoot was a vibrant gathering, with 204 shooters and 42 competitive teams participating. The event resonated with unity and purpose as attendees enjoyed the clay shoot and partook in various raffles and giveaways. These additional activities helped raise funds for veterans, highlighting the heartwarming spirit of generosity and community that defines the Endurance Organization. Year after year, they prove that supporting our veterans is a cause worth celebrating, and their impact on the lives of those who have served our country is immeasurable.

Despite COVID-19, the Endurance Organization Donates $64K to the PA Wounded Warriors in 2020
Posted February 1, 2021

State College, PA – The 2020 Annual Clay Shoot for the Endurance Organization, founded by Best Line Equipment and McCrossin, looked a bit different from years past. With a pandemic standing in the way of a typical gathering, the non-profit, which donates annually to the PA Wounded Warriors, had to get creative with how the event took place.

This time, the event was reorganized as an “Open Shoot,” in which anyone could participate. Attendees could shoot a round of sporting clays to show their support for PAWW, individually or in separate groups. A portion of the cost of each round went to the PAWW. State mandates and CDC guidelines were followed to ensure the safety and health of everyone in attendance.

“It was a challenging year for us,” says Kayla Sipes, Endurance Organization Treasurer. “We were concerned that we weren’t going to be able to donate anything to the PAWW this year. But the incredible employees from Best Line Equipment and McCrossin, as well as our stalwart partners and volunteers, really came through for us and our Pennsylvania veterans.”

In addition to the open clay shoot, employees and friends of Best Line Equipment and McCrossin sold gun raffle tickets. Despite the year’s challenges, sponsors donated generously, helping Endurance Organization raise an impressive $64,000!

Looking ahead, the Endurance Organization plans to move full steam ahead with its mission to support the PA Wounded Warriors. Posted October 18, 2019

State College, PA – Endurance Organization is excited to have donated $110,000 this year to PA Wounded Warriors, bringing their total in donations to half a million dollars in just six years. In 2014, Best Line Equipment and McCrossin teamed up with a shared mission: to serve those who served. Together, the two local businesses formed Endurance Organization – a non-profit that raises funds to help military veterans in need.

Endurance Organization’s funds go to PA Wounded Warriors. Founded in 2006, this non-profit is dedicated to helping Pennsylvanian veterans in need. Entirely volunteer-run, the group responds to the urgent financial needs of these veterans and their families such as medical expenses, housing, and utilities. “We’re happy to support PA Wounded Warriors,” says Joe Leahey, Vice President of McCrossin and Endurance Organization. “95 cents of every dollar they raise goes to veterans. We know our efforts are supporting a worthy cause.”

Endurance Organization recently held its sixth annual clay shoot. The event is attended by employees of Best Line Equipment and McCrossin, as well as sponsors. It is the organization’s sole way of raising funds. The day includes a gun raffle, Chinese auction, and of course, a clay shoot.

“Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Inc., an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the veterans of our fine state, was honored to be the recipient of Endurance’s 2019 clay shoot,” says retired Lieutenant Colonel Frank Sajer of PA Wounded Warriors. “The support of the Endurance Organization, Best Line Equipment and G. M. McCrossin Inc, their amazing sponsors and all the participants was really overwhelming. It was just great to have a well-organized, safe event with so many patriots who truly care about this state’s wounded veterans and veterans in crisis. The efforts of the Endurance Organization allow us to meet our daily mission and we will be forever thankful for the generosity.”

Looking ahead, Endurance Organization has no plans of stopping. “Our event is a culmination of a year-long effort to organize, fundraise, and raise support and awareness for veterans, and active military. September is also National Suicide Awareness Month, and in an effort to bring awareness to this critical issue at Endurance Organization, we’ve encouraged all our supporting organizations and individuals to recognize the national epidemic where 20-22 veterans are committing suicide every day. At Best Line Equipment, we speak about serving those who serve us, and consider it a core part of our company value set.” Thanks to the support of everyone involved, Endurance Organization plans to continue with its events for years to come.

These small machines pack a big punch with models up to 24.5 hp. And as a trusted Bobcat dealer at nine different locations, Best Line Equipment is excited to be adding these reliable machines to our inventory.

“Best Line was successful with the product before and we have sales, parts, and service support that is experienced with the product,” says Craig Grove, Bobcat Sales Manager at Best Line. “The new tractor lineup includes a size class that we didn’t have previously, the CT1021 and CT1025 sub-compact tractors. This size represents more than 50% of the tractors sold in our market, so we are very pleased to be able to offer them to our customers that found the earlier Bobcat tractors too large for their needs.”

Best Line has Been Voted One of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in PA for 2019!
Posted October 10, 2019

State College, PA – For the second year in a row, Best Line Equipment has been voted one of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania for 2019! This notable program identifies the best businesses to work for in Pennsylvania, facilitated by Central Penn Business Journal, Best Companies Group, Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and the Pennsylvania State Council of SHRM.

This accomplishment is a result of years of hard work and dedication that all began in 1985 with Mike Houseknecht. He started with a few pieces of equipment in his apartment in a small Pennsylvania town. Almost 35 years later, Best Line Equipment has grown to 13 locations with over 450 employees serving the state and surrounding areas.

Best Line looks a lot different than it did all those years ago thanks to one major factor –talented individuals working together to help the business succeed. We understand that without our employees, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

“We’re very proud of our team as we continue to grow and improve,” says Adam Houseknecht, President of Best Line Equipment. “We’ve all worked hard to stay a step ahead, and by putting employees in a position to succeed it couldn’t be more enjoyable.”

Employee satisfaction is one of our top priorities. We are constantly working to create the best environment for our employees by providing ongoing training, keeping up with developing technology, and asking for feedback.

Our efforts, however, don’t end with this recognition. Our goal to be the “Best” continues with each milestone. We will always be working to improve ourselves so that our dedication to our employees, customers, and community will always remain a top priority.

Through our 13 locations, Best Line Equipment offers our customers the “Best” in rental, sales, and service for any construction, homeowner, or industrial application. Customers can rent or buy from our full line of aerial lifts, generators, track-loaders, full-sized and mini excavators, utility vehicles, reach forklifts, wheel loaders, compaction and more.

Best Line Equipment Joins Sprocket Mural Works For Their 2019 Harrisburg Mural Fest.
Posted September 03, 2019

Harrisburg, PA - As the capital of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg is a place for locals and visitors to gather. Placed right along the Susquehanna River, the city has served as the Keystone State’s capital since 1812. The historic capital building, The State Museum of Pennsylvania, and unique local businesses, all stand in the city as testaments to the state’s culture and pride. One local non-profit, Sprocket Mural Works, is embracing the pride, passion, and potential the city has to offer by adding to the cityscape. They’ve been working since 2016 to uplift, inspire, and create connections in their community by painting murals on local buildings. “To uplift Harrisburg with art,” says Karen Hendricks, PR/Communications at Sprocket Mural Works. “That is at the heart of what we do.”

Sprocket Mural Works held its first Harrisburg Mural Fest back in 2017. The beautiful murals created during this festival bloom across entire building faces, bringing to life once empty spaces. Completing these large murals, however, often requires artists to reach the highest points of building faces. To tackle this obstacle, Best Line Equipment joined with Sprocket Mural Works for the first time in 2017. They returned this year for the 2019 fest, providing a variety of aerial equipment for 15 artists creating 14 new murals. “The HBG Mural Fest is a concentrated effort by local volunteers and residents to uplift Harrisburg through the power of public murals,” says Megan Caruso, Co-Founder of Sprocket Mural Works. “From 2016-2019 we have created 40 murals in our community, many of which have utilized Best Line Equipment. The support, expertise, and care we receive goes above and beyond––we consider Best Line an extension of our mural team.”

This year, Best Line Equipment was excited to return as a sponsor for the event. “They are really passionate about what they are doing and it’s contagious,” says AJ McElwee, Full Line Salesman at Best Line. “We are fortunate to be involved in this process and I’m glad we are able to help support this event.” For the event, a variety of aerial equipment was used, including rough terrain scissor lifts, straight booms, and scaffolding. A diverse group of both local and national artists has shared their talents to bring these murals to the streets of the city. The subject matter is also diverse, ranging from depictions of unique, local wildlife, to abstract paintings that inspire something different in everyone who sees them.

Thanks to quality, highly pigmented paint, these murals will last for years to come. They stand as vivid, honest reminders that art can inspire and portray ideas that would otherwise be difficult to articulate. They create a common ground for people to come together to have conversations, share ideas, and make connections. Best Line Equipment is happy to contribute to these murals, which by the efforts of those at Sprocket Mural Works and the local community, are uplifting and uniting the city of Harrisburg.

Posted January 31, 2017

State College, PA –Prior to his 11 years working at Best Line, Adam Houseknecht began his career gaining valuable equipment industry experience in sales and marketing at Ingersoll Rand and Bosch Rexroth.

In addition to his role at Best Line, Houseknecht continues to be the active president of the nonprofit Endurance Organization. Over the past three years, the Endurance Organization has donated over $200K to worthy causes which support active duty military and military veterans. Perhaps most important to Adam is his wife, Darcy Houseknecht, and four children, Regan, Cameron, Olivia, and Nora.

Houseknecht enjoys family activities such as traveling, Penn State sporting events and various outdoor activities such as hiking and hunting.  He believes everyone has a responsibility to those serving in the military and challenges the surrounding business community to not only clear the path for their employees, but help them along the way.

His one mistake has been falling into the trap of not giving his friends and family the time they deserve. "I've learned you need to focus on the important things in life to be happy", Houseknecht said.
