This tandem vibratory roller is distinguished by its 4,000 VPM (Vibrations Per Minute) high-frequency compaction capability. This elevated frequency allows for faster rolling speeds while maintaining optimal impact spacing, ensuring consistent and efficient asphalt compaction before the mat cools. The high-frequency vibration effectively achieves high density and uniformity in asphalt layers, crucial for durable pavements on major highway paving projects. The SW884 Guardman integrates the unique, SAKAI-engineered Guardman automatic braking safety system to actively prevent job site collisions. This cutting-edge technology first issues progressive warnings to the operator when a potential hazard is detected either in front of or behind the roller, with automatic braking initiating only as a final measure to avert contact with personnel or equipment. Additionally, the new Echelon Mode, exclusive to the SW884 and SW994 series asphalt rollers, supports safe and efficient close-proximity asphalt rolling in echelon patterns. It does this by enabling the trailing machine to precisely adjust its distance to the lead roller using a new visual proximity meter on the dash display, complemented by audible alerts.
