2019 Hydrema 912ES Rail 9B
Efficient earth moving on the trackWorking with construction and need to move materials both on and off railway tracks? We took the best features and performance from our 912ES compact dump truck and turned it into a rail machine, which works in category 9B (high rail) and 9C (low rail).
Features may include:
MultiTip - flexible tippingThe standard version of the 912ES Rail is mounted with MultiTip, which means the load can be tipped in a 180° range. The MultiTip function is a “must” when laying out aggregates or similar products along the railway tracks.
Get on the trackDriving onto and off the tracks is easy thanks to the pivot steering system and the dumptruck’s integrated cameras. Thanks to the pivot steering, simply turning the steering wheel enables the dump truck to be correctly lined up on the rails. The cameras ensure the best possible view of the rail wheels when they are lowered.
Easy to convertDespite the fact that the rail dump truck can operate both on- and off the rails, it is possible to achieve further workability and optimal use of the truck’s load capacity and road- and terrain-handling characteristics, - simply by dismounting the rail wheel construction. The construction is bolted onto the chassis and mounted with hydraulic quick couplings.
Keep on the track
Joystick operationThe two rail wheel axles are operated from the cab by means of the joystick for the gear shift/dumptruck body in the right-hand armrest. The rail wheels are operated individually in order to achieve the correct degree of unloading of the driving wheels. Installation of extra hydraulics is not necessary since the dump truck’s own hydraulic system is used.
Keep on trackFor safety reasons, the 912ES Rail is as standard equipped with a manual lock for the articulated steering as standard. In all its simplicity the lock consists of a steel rod which is put in a horizontal position when driving on rails. In this way the front and rear chassis are locked together. When the lock is active it is not possible to derail the dump truck.
Automatic hydraulic lockEngaging and disengaging the lock is carried out conveniently from the driver's seat, and increases comfort considerably, since the operator does not need to get out of the cabin to engage the manual lock. The hydraulic lock is a great advantage in bad weather and in cases where numerous entrances and exits on the rail tracks are needed.
