Snow, ice, and frigid temperatures… Ready or not, winter weather is on its way!

Here at Best Line Equipment, we take safety very seriously, and the way we handle the challenges winter weather presents is no exception.

This season, take a moment to review some of our winter safety tips to help keep you and those around you out of harm’s way!

Winter Safety Tips:

  •  Remove snow and ice from your vehicles and equipment before operating them. Leaving snow and ice on your machinery can obscure your vision. It may also fly off while you are driving, posing a threat to those around you.
  • Keep a shovel in your vehicle. If you find your vehicle has become stuck in the snow, having a shovel on hand will make digging yourself out much easier!
  • Avoid traveling in bad weather. If you don’t have to drive in dangerous weather conditions, don’t!
  • Make sure your lights are working. Having your vehicle’s lights on helps you see where you are going, and helps others see you. Trailer lights are no exception! Make sure that if you are towing a trailer, its turn signals, brake lights, and marker lights (lights around the sides of the trailer) are working.
  • Regularly inspect your tires. Take the time to check your tires’ pressure, tread, and age regularly.
  • Dress for success! If your work requires you to spend time outside this season, be sure to dress appropriately. Having an extra change of clothes on hand is also a good idea, in the event you get wet.

The challenges that winter weather presents are unique, so be sure to practice extra caution when out on the job or traveling this season!
