Air Manifolds
-
The main equipment rented to accomplish the job was a 375 CFM air compressor and a G125 generator. What makes this job a focal point for a Product Spotlight is the solution to supply the power from the generator and compressor to the many vendors in the area. Here is a list of equipment used to accomplish the task:
- (5) TryStar Covertible 400A Tuff Panel
- (10) TryStar Quad Box Stringer, 30'
- (10) TryStar Quad Box Stringer, 60'
- (10) TryStar Quad Box Extension Cord, 50'
- (20) Cam Lok Tees
- (7) Air Manifold, 15 Gallon

Generator setup:
The generator was set to the 208V 3 phase setting and then (5) 4/O Cam Lock cables were connected to the generator and the Tuff Panels. The panels come equipped with male and female Cam Lok connections so you can string the panels together. This allows for more versatility in stringing to the generator as well, in the event there are only male or female cable tails available.
The quad box stringers will connect to one of the 10 available outlets on the panels, providing (3) 20A quad receptacles every 10 or 20 feet along the stringer. Each outlet is on one phase of the generator, distributing the load from the entire stringer across all 3 phases during use. Also, each receptacle is GFI protected at the breaker rating within the panel.
This is a great alternative to the spider box system. It provides far more usable power, without the limitations of the 50amp rating on the spider box. Plus, most of our generators only have 2 or 3 50A twist lock outlets, limiting the amount of circuits. Each quad receptacle has its own breaker, so if one receptacle trips, it will not trip at the generator or the spider box, killing power to all users on the circuit.
